About the Teacher:
Sandie Hernandez is a cook who has worked in largeand small kitchens and bakeries. She is inspired by many cultures and the special role food plays within societies, the connection to festivals, ritual, community, family, environment and the importance of garden cultures. The conservation of age-old methods of cooking, preserving and preparation that comes from indigenous and traditional food is of enormous interest to Sandie, as are the special healing properties of food.
