GREENING THE UNIVERSITY WORKSHOP On Tuesday 14 August, the Postgraduate Environment Network will be hosting its first ‘Greening the University’ workshop. This is your chance to become involved in making Melbourne University a more environmentally friendly place. Hear from experts in the field what Melbourne University and other institutions are doing, bring your own ideas to the discussion and get involved with greening the University. The workshop features three speakers with different but compelling experience in institutional ‘greening’. They are Dr Sarah Bekessy, Stefan Delaney and Francis Grey. Dr Bekessy teaches at RMIT and co-authored a recent report into universities and sustainability. Stefan Delaney is General Manager of Environment, Health and Safety at The University of Melbourne. Francis Grey, based at Sustainable Asset Management, has great knowledge about practical institutional greening and has lectured on green business issues in the Office for Environmental Programs key subject, Sustainability, Policy and Management. This event is a great chance to learn and contribute in practical ways to this development as Melbourne University grapples with the challenges of environmental sustainability.
